Understand social performance
Compare periods, inspect posts and interpret the data each network provides.
Analytics summarizes available performance data for connected accounts. Networks report different metrics and refresh at different times. Missing data is not automatically zero performance, and combined figures should be read with their definitions.
Start with the right scope
-
Open Analytics in the intended workspace.
-
Select the date range and exact accounts or platforms.
-
Read the headline metrics and available trend charts. Check the metric definition and last refresh when shown.
-
Use Compare to for a previous or custom period of comparable length.
-
Open a platform card to see its detailed post and audience views.
Investigate a post
Open a row from the top-posts list or platform table. Compare its caption, format, publication time and native engagement metrics. Follow the platform post link when available to verify context. Use AI insights as hypotheses. Open the supporting chart or source data before deciding that a format or time caused a result. Small samples, paid promotion and unusually popular topics can distort a comparison.
Use timing and exports
The Best times view may show an engagement heatmap or recommendations. Read sample size and confidence, then use it alongside the campaign schedule. See Smart Post Times. Use available CSV exports for a defined filter and range. For a client-facing PDF or shared report, use Reports and inspect the complete output before sharing.
Missing or stale metrics
Check connection permissions, date range, account selection and refresh status. New posts may take time to accumulate data. Different platforms can expose different audience and click information. For persistent issues, include the metric, account, range and refresh time in a support request.
Interpret missing data and comparisons
Start with a specific account and comparable date windows. Record which metrics are available, the last refresh and whether the posts fall in the selected range. A missing metric is different from a measured zero. Native dashboards and API-derived analytics can differ in timing, definition and coverage.
Use a top post to choose one follow-up experiment: repeat its topic, format or timing while changing one factor. Treat best-time suggestions as guidance based on available history, not a guaranteed result. Use Reports for a shareable snapshot after checking its scope.
