Publishing status and recovery
Distinguish drafts, approvals, scheduling and actual publication.
Publishing can run asynchronously and return a different result for each selected account. Treat status as a sequence of work, not a single success banner.
Understand the states
| State | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| Draft | Content is saved for preparation. A planned date on a draft does not activate publication. |
| Pending approval | Publication is held for the required reviewer. Open the approval details. |
| Scheduled | A future action exists. Verify the exact time, timezone and destinations. |
| Accepted / processing | The system is still working. Check the existing job instead of submitting another one. |
| Completed / published | Inspect the per-account result and open its platform post link or identifier when available. |
| Failed / partial failure | Read the error and preserve successful destinations while fixing the affected one. |
Recover without duplicating
-
Open the post detail in Content or Calendar and note the failed account and error.
-
Check the actual network account for an existing post, especially after a timeout or uncertain response.
-
Inspect connection health, required account permissions, media requirements, usage limits and schedule.
-
Correct the specific cause. Retry only the confirmed failed or missing destination.
-
Recheck the final status and resulting post. For threads and first comments, inspect each follow-on item too.
Escalate a persistent problem
Keep the post or job identifier, account/platform, timestamp and timezone, exact error and steps already tried. Share a privacy-safe screenshot with support. Never include API keys, invitation links, access tokens or customer conversation content that support does not need.
