An image, video or document is rejected

Check the file against the exact destination and placement.

Media accepted by one platform can be rejected by another. File extension alone does not prove that the actual format, dimensions, duration or encoding is supported.

Inspect the file and destination

  1. Read the exact validation message and identify the failing account and placement.

  2. Check the required file type, size, aspect ratio, dimensions and video duration shown by the composer.

  3. Confirm the upload finished and the preview plays or displays correctly.

  4. For a carousel, check count, order and whether mixed media is supported.

  5. For a document, use a supported document destination and its limits; do not send a PDF as a universal social attachment.

Repair and verify

Export a suitable version from the original source, upload it and inspect the new preview. Keep the original so a format correction does not destroy your best-quality asset. For video, review audio, orientation and the supported thumbnail behavior as well. Retry publication only after confirming the earlier attempt did not succeed on the affected network. See Channel requirements for destination-specific checks.
