Channel and media requirements
Know which settings to inspect for each social network.
Use the available connection and composer controls as the authority for your current accounts. A platform can support publishing while exposing fewer analytics or social-message features. Support may also differ by account type and selected format.
Check the destination-specific controls
| Destination | What to inspect before publishing |
|---|---|
| Eligible connected account; Post, Reel or Story format; media crop and duration; carousel order; available alt text, collaborators and cover controls. | |
| Correct Page or destination, required permissions, media format, preview and any supported first comment. | |
| Personal or organization account, caption preview and document versus image format. A supported document post uses a single PDF; check the current size and page limits. | |
| X | Exact account, per-item character limits, links, thread order and the displayed credit or daily-usage limits. |
| TikTok | Direct publication versus a draft requiring completion in the network app; privacy and available interaction settings; video requirements. |
| YouTube | Channel, title, description, visibility, audience requirements and thumbnail controls; inspect the final format. |
| Intended board, destination URL, title, description and image or video requirements. | |
| Threads / Bluesky | Available post format, per-item text and media limits; native thread support only where offered. |
| Mastodon | Correct instance and account, instance-specific limits, visibility, content warning and media descriptions where available. |
| Google Business Profile | Correct location, post type and required call-to-action or event fields. |
Prepare different versions
A single image can need different crops across placements. A PDF document cannot be treated as an image attachment for every platform. The current Social integration supports LinkedIn documents as one PDF up to 100 MB and 300 pages; other destinations should receive a separately prepared supported format. Keep caption overrides deliberate. Test links after tracking parameters or short links are added, and inspect the actual final media attachment in each preview.
Verify independently
After submission, inspect each destination's result. A draft delivered to a network app may need a final action there. A successful connection does not guarantee every post format will be accepted. See Rejected media and Publishing status.
Use current validation instead of a universal media limit
Supported networks, formats and limits depend on the connection route and selected placement. Inspect the current composer validation for each destination, including caption count, media count, dimensions, duration and required fields. A native platform feature does not automatically establish that the same feature is available through this integration.
For mixed destinations, prepare separate supported versions where necessary. A TikTok draft or handoff can require completion in the platform app; confirm the selected delivery mode. Never label a draft handoff as a public post.
