Threads and first comments

Prepare connected posts and follow-on comments for supported destinations.

A thread is a chain of posts. A first comment is a separate response added after the main post publishes. These features are supported differently across networks and formats.

Prepare a thread

  1. Open the composer and choose a destination that offers Add to thread, such as supported X or Bluesky publishing.

  2. Write the first post, then add the remaining items in order.

  3. Check character limits and media for every item, not just the opening post.

  4. Preview the complete sequence and read any usage estimate. A multi-post thread may count as several publishing actions.

  5. Schedule or publish and verify the resulting chain on the destination. If only part succeeded, inspect it before retrying.

Add a first comment

Choose a supported destination and open First comment. Write the intended text, links or hashtags and set a delay if offered. Check the final comment separately from the main caption. If workspace Posting defaults offers reusable first-comment templates, configure the correct platform and review the resolved text in each new post. A template is still editable per post where supported.

Check follow-on results

The main post may succeed while a later thread item or first comment fails. Inspect the post detail and destination before retrying the failed part. Do not republish a successful main post just because its comment is missing.
