Connect and publish to Mastodon
Use the correct instance and inspect visibility and server-specific limits.
Mastodon accounts live on a particular instance. Your connection must identify that server as well as your account. Character and media limits can vary by instance.
Connect the account
-
Open Settings → Social accounts / Social Connections.
-
Choose Mastodon and enter your account's instance URL.
-
Complete authorization on that instance, then return to Social.
-
Verify the account and instance in the connection list before composing.
Compose and publish
Select the Mastodon account, write the post and inspect the instance-specific character limit. Add supported media and useful descriptions. Review visibility and any content-warning setting offered for the post. Do not assume a reply is private simply because it appears in a social inbox. Inspect the original conversation and the visibility shown by the destination. Schedule or publish, then open the resulting post on the correct instance. Check media, links and visibility there as well as the completed result in Social.

Filter Analytics and social messages by the account. Available metrics and conversation types depend on the instance and integration. A missing metric is not necessarily zero activity. If a connection fails, confirm the instance URL and service availability before reconnecting. Preserve successful publications when retrying a partial failure.
