Auto-Post from feeds and channels

Turn newly detected source items into drafts, approval batches or publications.

Auto-Post watches a supported source for new items. Available source types include RSS or Atom feeds, podcast feeds, public newsletter feeds and YouTube channels. The chosen mode determines what happens when an item is detected.

Connect a source

  1. Open Automation → Auto-Post and choose Connect source.

  2. Pick the source type and provide its public feed URL or channel identifier.

  3. Inspect the fetched preview to confirm the correct publication and recent items.

  4. Select the exact destination accounts. Prefer an explicit account set to a broad “all” selection.

  5. Choose a mode and timing, then save. Inspect History after the first check.

Choose the right mode

Auto-draft only creates material for review. Approval batch holds detected content until the batch is approved. Auto-publish can send new items without a manual review step. Start with drafts while checking source quality and destination formatting. Timing options may include immediate action, a next queue slot or a custom delay. Inspect the final time in Calendar; detection time and publication time are different.

Inspect the output

Read each caption and source link, check generated media and confirm the correct destination. A public newsletter feed may omit subscriber-only content, and a video feed may expose only metadata. Do not assume the complete source was available. History should show detected items and their outcomes. Check it before retrying a source or importing older material; initial backfill and duplicate handling may differ by source.

Handle failures

If a source pauses or reports errors, inspect feed access, account connections and usage limits. Correct the cause, review existing generated items and resume deliberately. For storefront feeds, see RSS setup and Shopify.

Start with a source preview and Auto-draft

  1. Open Automation → Auto-Post and connect a public RSS/Atom, podcast or newsletter feed, or a supported YouTube channel.
  2. Inspect the source preview to confirm the intended content. Private, password-protected or unavailable feeds cannot be treated as working sources.
  3. Choose Auto-draft only and exact target accounts for the first run. Check History for detection and a resulting draft.
  4. Inspect the caption, source link, media and destination. Move to an approval batch or automatic publishing only when that exact behavior is appropriate.

New-source history is bounded; connecting a feed is not an instruction to import its full archive. Detection can take a polling cycle. Repeated fetch errors may pause a source: inspect History, fix access or feed content, then resume deliberately. Check for an existing detected item before reconnecting or retrying.
